UTAH CHAMBER ARTISTS ANNOUNCE THE 2012 ‘BEVERLY SORENSON YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION’

The Beverly Sorenson Young Artist Competition showcases young musicians in Utah. The winner will be featured in a concerto with the Utah Chamber Artist Orchestra directed by Barlow Bradford in Libby Gardner Concert Hall and be awarded a $500 cash prize.

The concert will performed for middle school students on January 30-31. The event is part of Utah Chamber Artists’ “Youth Music Festival.” The festival is co-sponsored by Art Works for Kids and the R. Harold Burton Foundation.

Pianists 11-15 years of age are invited to apply. Applications for the preliminary round of auditions are due on November 28. Guidelines and application forms are available online at www.utahchamberartists.org, or by calling 801-572-2010.
