UTAH WIND SYMPHONY STUDENT CONCERTO COMPETITION TO AWARD $11,000 IN SCHOLARSHIP MONEY

The second annual Utah Wind Symphony Student Concerto Competition is accepting applications from college, high school and junior high school woodwind, brass and percussion players. Applications must be postmarked by Jan. 3, 2013, and can be accessed at www.utahwindsymphony.org. The completed application, along with a DVD recording, must be sent to UWS Concerto Competition Committee, Jordan High School, c/o Randal Clark, 95 Beetdigger Blvd., Sandy, Utah 84070.

Applicants will be notified Jan. 19, 2013, if they have been selected as a finalist in the live audition portion of the competition, which will be held on Jan. 28, 2013, at Summerhays Recital Hall in Salt Lake City. Winners of the finalist round will be announced on Jan. 30, 2013.

The top three performers in the collegiate and high school divisions will each receive $1,500 in scholarships, and the top two performers in the junior high school division will each receive $1,000 scholarships.
