The University of Utah Chamber Choir triumphed over choral groups from around the world to win first prize at the recently held Florilège Vocal de Tours in France.

The group, under the direction of Barlow Bradford, also won the Audience Favorite Award.

As a result of its win, the choir has been asked to compete in the 2015 European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in Tours against the winners of six European choral competitions.

The Florilège Vocal competition was the choir’s final stop during its 12-day concert tour in France. During the tour the ensemble performed in Normandy for the 70th anniversary of D-Day, as well as at concerts at Notre Dame in Paris, the Church of the Madeleine and the American Cathedral.
