November Question of the Month

We at Reichel Recommends love chamber music, we think that some of the greatest music ever written is for chamber ensemble. Some of our favorite works are: Schubert’s String Quintet, Beethoven’s Quartet in C sharp minor, op. 131, and Dvorak’s Piano Quintet in A major. Locally we have some wonderful chamber series and festivals including: the Chamber Music Society of Salt Lake City, Park City Music Festival, Intermezzo Chamber Music Series, NOVA Chamber Music Series and the Chamber Music Society of Logan.  So here’s our question for November:

What is your favorite chamber music work and why?

Send your replies to ereichel@reichelartsreview.com.  Please include your name on your email. This month’s question will remain on our site until November 30.

The prize this month is a 3 CD (box set), Schubert: The Late String Quartets, performed by the Emerson String Quartet.  This set also includes the String Quintet with the legendary Mstislav Rostropovich!

We would also like to hear from you if you have suggestions for future questions. Please send those to the email address above.
