FRY STREET QUARTET TO PLAY ON NOVA’S SEASON CLOSING CONCERTS

Fry Street Quartet

For its final concert of the season, the NOVA Chamber Music Series focuses on the late works of Franz Schubert. In the first half, Utah Symphony violinist Lun Jiang, Utah Symphony pianist Jason Hardink and pianist Kimi Kawashima will perform the virtuosic Fantasie in C major for Violin and Piano, D. 934, and the deeply moving Fantasie in F minor for Piano Four Hands, D. 940.

The second half will consist of only one work, the towering Quartet in G major, op. 161, arguably one of the greatest works in the string quartet medium. This will be played by NOVA’s quartet-in-residence, the Fry Street Quartet.

There will be two performances. The first takes place on April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Performance Hall on the Utah State University campus. Tickets for this concert are $8 and available by calling 435-797-8022 or by logging on to www.arts.usu.edu.

The second performance takes place April 17 at 3 p.m. in Libby Gardner Concert Hall on the University of Utah campus. Tickets are $18 for general, $15 for seniors and $5 for students and are available at the door (cash or checks only).
