TIMPANOGOS SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES CONDUCTOR COMPETITION

The Timpanogos Symphony has announced details of its second annual Aspiring Conductors Competition. The competition is open to youth between the ages of 14-18 as of May 9, 2014, who reside in Utah County. Competitors must be available for selected Thursday evening rehearsals in April and May and for the two performances on May 9-10

The deadline for submitting an application is April 10. The audition will be held April 17. Applications must be submitted electronically. Details and the selected musical score (Act II, No. 10 from Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake) can be found at www.thetso.org/aspiring-music-competition/.

The winner will receive a $200 scholarship and will conduct the selected scene from Swan Lake during the upcoming TSO concert on either May 9 or 10.
