MET’S ‘LIVE IN HD’ TO REBROADCAST FOUR PRODUCTIONS IN JUNE AND JULY

For four Wednesdays in June and July, the Metropolitan Opera will present its Summer Encores, featuring select performances from the Live in HD series.

Locally, the productions will be aired at 7 p.m. For a list of theaters presenting the operas and to order tickets log on to www.metopera.org/hdlive.

Below is the schedule:

  • June 19: Bizet’s Carmen, with mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca (Carmen), tenor Roberto Alagna (Don Jose), soprano Barbara Frittoli (Micaëla) and baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes (Escamillo); Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts. (Originally transmitted live on Jan. 16, 2010.)
  • June 26: Verdi’s Il Trovatore, with tenor Marcelo Álvarez (Manrico), soprano Sondra Radvanovsky (Leonora), mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick (Azucena) and baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Count di Luna); Marco Armiliato conducts. (Originally transmitted live on April 30, 2011.)
  • July 10: Rossini’s Armida, with soprano Renée Fleming (Armida), tenor Lawrence Brownlee (Rinaldo) and tenor Barry Banks (Gernando); Riccardo Frizza conducts. (Originally transmitted live on May 1, 2010.)
  • July 17: Verdi’s La Traviata, with soprano Natalie Dessay (Violetta), tenor Matthew Polenzani (Alfredo) and baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Germont); Fabio Luisi conducts. (Originally transmitted live on April 14, 2012.)
