LOCAL PIANIST JOSH WRIGHT’S DEBUT CD MAKES IT TO THE NO. 1 SPOT ON BILLBOARD

After three weeks on Billboard’s Classical Traditional chart, local pianist Josh Wright’s self-titled debut CD made it to the top spot this week, toppling the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s “Men of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir,” which landed at No. 2. Wright’s album has been on the list for three weeks and last week was at No. 3. It is also currently on Billboard’s Classical Albums chart, where it holds the No. 10 spot.

The 23-year-old pianist is a student at the University of Utah, where he will receive his master’s degree in music in May.

Wright has taken part in several internationally prominent piano competitions over the years, including last year’s Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition and the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. He also regularly gives recitals around the country and has performed at Carnegie Hall.

“Josh Wright” is produced by Shadow Mountain Records and Deseret Book, and is available at Deseret Book.
